You may have heard in recent news that due to an increase in illegal poaching, African elephants have become seriously endangered.
New research revealed that since 2004 over 11,000 elephants have been killed by ivory poachers and unless action urgently takes place, the African elephant could become extinct within the next ten years.
Back in the 1970s, around 1,300,000 African elephants roamed in the wilderness. In recent years that figure has dropped to a painfully low 470,000 and the population is continuously decreasing. Continue reading
